Converting ArchiCAD 9 plan files and Layout books when PMK have been used

If the Layout Book contains PlotMaker files which are file based linked then prior to converting these layout books to ArchiCAD 10 files you should first change the file based links to project based links.

To-do this follow the procedure outlined below.

Changing the file based hotlink files to project based hotlinks.

  1. Open the existing layout book in PlotMaker 9.

  2. Go to the drawing usage and select all drawings that have a file based link (PMK files) and then change these to project based links using the icon indicated below.

  3. Then save the file. Exit from PlotMaker version 9.

  4. Open layout book in version 10.
  5. Skip all items that could not be found.
  6. Save the file.
  7. Open the main project file and save as a version 10 file.
  8. Using the File special merge form the file pull down menu merge the layouts from the file saved in step 6 and then go to the drawing manager.

  9. Select all files that originate from the same PLN file and then click on the re link icon at the top left and select the PLN that contains the views required.
This will then update all layouts in one go.
