Issue
When starting ArchiCAD, message "Cannot initialize application (0xc0000005)" appears and ArchiCAD fails to start
Cause
0xC0000005 is a general Access Violation error on Windows systems. This can be caused by hardware error (faulty RAM module), but the most likely cause is incompatibility with an other installed software (or malware/adware).
In case of ArchiCAD, a proven incompatibility occurred between ArchiCAD 9 and SonicStage Mastering Studio Audio Filter program
Solution
- Try to locate the software that is causing the error
- Scan your system for malware / adware
check your Windows Registry with a Registry checker (e.g. http://www.registryfix.com/)
