When a single DWG or DXF drawing is imported into PlotMaker 3, and it is placed on a new Layout, the user will notice that nothing is placed on that Layout. Instead, the DWG/DXF file is opened in a drawing window that is placed under the Layout in question.
This is actually the intended operating mode of PlotMaker in such cases. When something like this happens, one of three cases is true:
The DWG/DXF file contains Model Space, but the Paper Space is empty.
- The file contains both Model space and Paper Space, but there is no active view in which the Model Space could be seen.
- The Model Space of the file is completely empty.
Since PlotMaker tries to interpret Paper Space, if there is only Model Space in the DWG/DXF file, it will open it in a separate drawing window, as there is no data available about how the drawing should be placed on a drawing.
In PlotMaker 3.1, the user will be informed when there is no Paper Space in the imported DWG/DXF so he will be aware of why it is not actually placed on the Layout.
