How do I create a detail from another drawing?
Select the Detail Tool.
Make sure:
- The Detail drawing method is NOT set to the left-most (dummy) option. Any other will allow you to draw the shape of your "cut" detail.
- The Detail it set to "create new detail" not "link to existing detail."
- The Detail has a distinguishable name and number, so you can tell them from other details.
Now you should be able to draw the outline of your detail. A new Detail will appear in your Project Map. If you open it, it will contain a 2D copy of the contents of the detail outline you just drew.
How do I create an independent detail?
Set your Navigator Palette to Project Map mode.
- Right-click on the "Detail" heading.
Select "Create Independent Detail."
- Provide a distinguishable name and number for your new detail.
