The materials are stored in ArchiCAD with their index numbers. It means that if an object is using the Brick-Running Bond material it refers not to the name but the Index #1. So if you load this library part into the DK template 10.tpl this object will refer to index #1 which is Trae, birk.
Our advise is, if you want to use the International library as well and don't want to mess up the library materials, and your object library (e.g. Dansk Bibliotek 10) contains less object which should be modified, do the followings:
- open the International ArchiCAD 10 Template.tpl this will contain all the int materials,
Go to Attribute Manager -> Materials tab: on the left all international materials will be listed (123 pcs.), and on the right you can open a file which contains your new materials that you want to add. Open the DK Template 10.tpl (this contains 84 pcs. of materials).
- 'Select all' in the right and Append them to the left, so the DK materials will added after the Int materials, the beginning with index nr. 124-207.
- So the DK library parts should refer to material indexes from 124 to 207.
But if you deleted some items from the int materials the new added ones will start always from the first unused index number.
If opening another project that was created with another material (attribute) set it will refer to those indexes. The attribute set is always saved with the project.
Graphisoft plans to change this method so that the attributes will be stored with their names in the future.
