Regarding QuickTime compatibility on my machine Windows XP x64 Edition. This page helped me out to solve the problem. http://sillydog.org/forum/sdp_75696.php
If you install a new version of QuickTime 7.1 on x64 machine, QuickTime stops working and Archicad fails to start. Then you try to uninstall QuickTime but it's impossible to do it by ordinary method. (Add or Remove software from Control Panel).
Steps:
move QuickTime folder from Program files folder
run regedit, delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WoW6432Node\Apple Computer, Inc.
remove following files from Windows folder, quick.ime, QuickTime.qts, QuickTimeVR.qtx.
install QuickTime 7.0.4
The bottom line - Do not upgrade to QT 7.1!!! Stick with 7.0.4 We need to wait for Apple to release QT fully supported for x64..
2006/10/10 Quicktime 7.1.3 seems to work fine in Windows Vista RC1 x64 (but alas, the WIBU driver for ArchiCAD NOT).
